2You'll be lucky if they last more than a year.....save your money  Nov 20, 2009
I was always a fan of BOSE. I had tri port headphones that I loved. So when BOSE came out with the in ear headphones, I couldn't wait to get them.

Unfortunately, the only good thing about these headphones is that it has the BOSE name on them.

If you're only going to use these headphones to sit at a desk, then yes...they work fine.

However, if you're going to use these for exercise or any kind of activity that requires movement, FORGET IT. The product is so poorly designed for durability it's pathetic.

The jack is angled, but the wire at the base of the jack is incredibly sensitive to movement. It's so sensitive in fact, that just from normal wear and tear, the sound will start cutting out within a year due to the poor design of the jack. Sound will start cutting in and out in the right ear piece. If you wiggle the jack...you'll get the sound back for a few seconds. But after that, it will cut out for good.

BOSE is aware of this problem and yet they have done nothing to correct the flaw in the headphone jack.

Until they do....I would avoid this product at all costs, unless you're willing to part with one hundred of your hard earned dollars.

3Mixed Bag  Nov 17, 2009
I so wanted to give these headsets 5 stars, but can't. I am a long time fan of Bose and have headsets, wave radio, and speakers and think Bose is a great product. However, for the price, these headphones just don't stack up. The main issue I have with them is the amount of outside noise they let in. Yes, I know, they are not noise cancelling or even noise isolating headphones, but they let in a tremendous amount of background noise. When I am at the gym I can hear every conversation going on around me and recently on a plane ride I was unable to hear every piece of dialouge on several movies/tv shows I watched due to the background noise. I had the volume on my mobile device turned all the way up and still missed a lot. While the buds are comfortable, the style forces you to turn up the volume on your mobile devices which in reading several reviews is a problem as doctors do not recommend this. Yes they are comfortable but for me the fact that they let in almost all outside noise makes them unsuitable for anything other then a library like environment.

2Great Sound But Poorly Manufactured  Nov 07, 2009
I've had mine for about 3 months and the sound frequently chops up or drops out in one side. If I move my head at all, the sound starts chopping up and sounds horrible. I think the problem stems from the wire connections into the black oval piece 3/4 of the way down the wire. Just touching the black oval piece causes the sound to drop out in one side. Also, I've already lost 2 of the 3 pairs of clear soft ear attachments. Don't get me wrong, they add amazing comfort but fall off too easy and are easily lost. Overall, the sound and comfort is amazing but the product is poorly manufactured at best. Save your $100.

5Really nice  Nov 04, 2009
I love these earphones. Rich gorgeous sound and comfortable fit. I agree with reviewer that suggests boosting treble.
These are the first earphones I've owned that stay in my ears. Very very nice. Well worth it.

4Pretty Darn Good ... but not for everyone  Nov 02, 2009
As some background: I own the BOSE around the ear Tri Port phones and a pair of Ultimate Ears SuperFi 5 Pro's. I really like the UE's but in general they are hard to get into my small ears and are not comfortable for long periods of use - this became painfully apparent to me after an overseas trip last month. The Tri Ports are great but are a little bulky for everyday use.

I purchased these phones with some hesitation because of all of the reviews about them falling out and being heavy on the bass. I wasn't sure I wanted to spend more money on yet another pair of phones that wouldn't quite meet all of my needs ... but I am glad I did. I did some extensive testing with the music collection on my iPod Classic. I threw everything from Akon to Diana Krall at them and here is where I came out:

1. Rich sound across all ranges of music (but have a little more bass than most people prefer)
2. Sound best when using the Treble Booster EQ setting and letting the phones handle the bass
3. Had little problem with the buds falling out of my ears. The medium sized buds a near perfect. In fact, I barely know I am wearing them after awhile (I think this is what BOSE had in mind the whole time)
4. Price point: At 99$ not a big deal for me as I have already invested other earphones
5. Overall value - these are the sweet spot for the price. Good sound quality, compact, and did not break my check book.

Some cons:

1. I can see the ear buds wearing out over time but when you buy these you can register and get free extras - Don't forget!!
2. BOSE sound not for everyone. It works for me and that's all that matters. Let your ears be the judge.
3. No noise cancelling but that is clearly documented everywhere.

Wants:

1. An in ear noise cancelling version of these with the same comfort level - get it done BOSE!!

Overall, I am pleased with my purchase. As an avid listener of music I think I have finally found the best co-pilot for my music collection. Bus rides have turned into private concerts that I don't want to end!
